This may not be a must win as far s this season goes, but it feels like a must win for the development of this team. These quarterbacks have started at least one game for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League. Zac Taylor is now 0-10-1 in one score games since becoming the head coach, and the whole “we are so close” thing only lasts for so long before it gets old. It also gives hope that this can finally be the week where this team finally gets over the hump. That is good news for rookie quarterback Joe Burrow who looks to throw for over 300 passing yards for the third straight week. That was one of the reasons Miami was able to make it look easy against them last week. The defense also hasn’t been terrible statistically, but when you are forcing your offense to score over 30 points to have a chance at winning every week you’re going to end up (1-2) like they are. That is what made their Thursday Night Football loss to the banged up Dolphins that much more confusing. The Jaguars were flying high after two weeks with Gardner Minshew lighting things up, and their undrafted rookie running back James Robinson has been one of the most impressive young players this season. Sure, there were some really frustrating miscommunications that resulted in big plays, but they provided pressure and created turnovers, The real problem was the offense only scored three points off of the two turnovers created. ![]() The good news is the defense did a better job in Week 3. Last week it left the door open for the Eagles to pull off a dramatic comeback to tie the game with a touchdown on the final drive of regulation. Unfortunately, what has also been a trend is Cincinnati settling for field goals too often to put teams away. This has just been a real trend for the Bengals the past couple of weeks. Jacksonville is coming off a disappointing loss where their quarterback didn’t play up to expectations. The Jaguars are coming to town, and stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Okay but in all seriousness, Cincinnati gets a game at home this week. Hey, the Bengals aren’t the team coming off a loss.
